CBS7

2015 – 2018

As the Promotions Coordinator, I was tasked with managing different campaigns from different organizations.

I worked closely with the Creative Service Department to ensure that commercials, social media graphics, and news coverage promoted each organization across all mediums.

During my time in the Promotions Coordinator role I collaborated with the sales team and contributed ideas to help plan campaigns for media buyers.

As well as working with the news team Assignments Editor to coordinate how to efficiently showcase different businesses across the area in each newscast and on social media.

During the Summer of 2017, CBS7 hit the road and made its way across West Texas broadcasting live newscasts with community members highlighting each town with special coverage.

My contributation to the CBS7 Community tour consisted of working with local vendors to donate items such as ice cream and watermelons for the community, seeking sponsorship opportunities, and coordinating with the news team live-hits during the newscast.

After graduating from Eastern New Mexico University in 2015, I packed my bags and made my way to West Texas.

As a producer, I worked with reporters, the production team, and on-air talent.

Every show had a top story and I supervised different reporters to ensure their news package was delivered on time.

Time management was key when constructing a 30-minute newscast, along with coordinating with reporters, and developing a creative newscast within a short period of time.

The Sales Department would have clients request live giveaways, and I would integrate this into my show and ensure that each winner received their tickets.

Throughout my shows I would edit unique sound bites, integrate different edited videos, and produce each show with different content.

My time as a News Producer allowed me to use my storytelling skills and develop a creative eye to inform and tell stories in unique ways during a live newscast.
